The Schuylerville Pubic Library dates back to 1894 and has operated from this building since 1968. The organization was re-chartered in 2013 and now operates as a School District Library and operates within the Southern Adirondack Library System collective which shares a computerized cataloging system with the Mohawk Valley Library System.
