The Franciscan Sisters of Allegany spread their work from the small town of Allegany to Brazil. Similar to Jamaica, in Brazil the Sisters wanted to establish places where people could gather and learn. The Admirable Mother Convent is the headquarters for the Franciscan Sisters in Brazil. At the Mother Convent is where the Sisters hold all their group happenings.

The Franciscan Sisters of Allegany got to Brazil in 1946 and began service work right away. At the Mother Convent there is a focus on helping families in poverty by providing social assistance as well as donating food, clothes, personal hygiene products, and educational lectures. All of these donations go to people in need in Brazil. The Franciscan Sisters also partner with a local center that focus on child and adolescent care. At the center is where children and adolescents are given the opportunity to learn educationally as well as learn how to take care of their bodies. The Franciscan Sisters work with 12 urban communities around Brazil to promote the practice of love and peace.
