Bun's Restaurant was founded in 1889, and was located on 6-10 W. Winter Street in Delaware until a fire destroyed the building in 2002. They reopened at the current location in 2002 or 2003, moving next door. The iconic arch outside Bun's straddling both sides of the street was originally constructed in 1909, and was repurposed for restaurant signage in 1922. According to a 1998 newspaper article, other businesses including Storhm's meat Market, The Delaware County Bank, AAA and a drug store also had signage on the arch at some point over the years, as late as the 1930s. In 1998, the historic arch was removed by the city and replaced in 1999 with a newly refurbished arch when the sidewalk needed reconstruction.
Prior to Bun's moving into the location, 12 W. Winter housed a meat market from the 1900s until the 1920s, known as Shoemaker, C.L. Meats in 1901 and Strohm, W.H. Meat Market in 1922. 14 W. Winter housed the Swope's Bakery bakery from the 1901 until at least 1909, and an art shop in 1922. The building was historically known as "The Cochran Block."
The 6-10 W. Winter Property was an abandoned lot, prior to Bun's adding patio seating to the lot.
