Sanford Marching Band ca. 1955

The Sanford HS Marching Band can be seen marching south on Main St. past the Kostis and Norman stores. The buildings were razed during the Urban Renewal in the 1970s. There at what is now (2023) a parking lot at 458 Main Street, Springvale, close to Bridge Street. Also, they passed North Main Street after passing Washington Street, and "a star was born" played at the State Theater. None of the buildings beside's the ones on the far right were still standing in 2010. The stores include First National, the Boston Store, Western Auto, Goodwin Pharmacy, Capitol Restaurant, Myral's, and the Mobile gas station.
