The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches

The Ballpark of the Palm beaches made its debut on February 28th of 2017. Normally this is a place for he Washington Nationals and Huston Astros to hold their Spring Training for baseball here, but it can be used for all types of events when Spring Training is not happening. Although this is a fairly new location, so there is not too much history that is found here other than what this ballpark is used for. But at the ballpark there have been many milestones such as completing it in months rather than 2 years! The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches is located in West Palm Beach Florida, and it is a great place to watch some Spring Training baseball games or even host your own events in their lounge areas. The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches can provide you with any forms of entertainment, it might even help in the middle of a pandemic.

WHY WAS IT CREATED?:

The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches is a baseball park that is a hot spot for locals to walk around as well as to host the Washington Nationals and the Huston Astros. This destination is found in West Palm Beach, Florida. Specifically, 5444 Haverhill Rd, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. The Washington Nationals and Huston Astros enjoy going here for their Spring training in February, March, and April. They go to Florida in order to prepare themselves for the same conditions they will be playing in during their long season ahead. The hot and humid weather, of course followed up by some heavy rainfall, prepares them for the games they will be playing ahead. This provides them with an escape from the snowy cold weather they are having in their hometown areas during these months before their big games. These two lucky baseball teams have about 160 acres of land to train on as well as lots of batting practice and indoor spaces. One more thing to mention is at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches they host many events such as an "Athlete 20th year anniversary yoga party", Bar-mitzvahs, etc. This is what they have been doing since the opening on February 28th in 2017. They have a 2,000 sq ft indoor space, outdoor covered and outdoor uncovered area, in-house catering, and of course video features. The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches really has it all!

EVENTS AND WHAT IT HAS BEEN USED FOR:

Not only is this a huge ballpark for major league baseball teams to train before their season starts, but there are many events hosted here. One of the events that The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches holds every year is the Best Buddies Friendship walk for all of Palm Beach. This event is held at this location which happens once a year, usually around April. The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is the number one walk in the country that is included for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Money is raised which goes towards Best Buddies International, this is the money raised helps the organization continue to grow and provides one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Having The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches as the location this event is held at provides more than you could ever imagine. Loud music to see everyone singing and dancing all together, a large place to walk around as it can host about 7,700 people on its 160 acres of land. By The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches hosting this event it provides for more individuals to learn about what it is, and that it is not only doing its job of being a baseball park with 6 different practice baseball fields, but it holds some of the biggest organizations and provides them with what they need in order to continue to grow. Another fact is that it held a drive thru COVID 19 testing area for the area of West Palm Beach. This was a great idea due to lines being so long and having to wait forever to get a test, this was quick and easy to find out if you were healthy or needed to quarantine. This ballpark has helped many in all different ways such as provide entertainment with baseball games or their own private events, a place to hold an event to raise money for a special cause, even provide a relief during the middle of a pandemic.

This site provides a large amount of information about The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches, specifically the seating sections and how to get to the location. This type of source is just an article, but it includes great visuals of the seating as well as the different parking lots assessable to the visitors. This would be categorized under a commercial site. I found this through Google while trying to identify spring training that is held at the location. This is a website where I found a decent amount of information for my research analysis for my topic by expressing all the events that have been held in the past and events that are possible to be held in the future.

This website is the Best Buddies Friendship Walk that occurs at the location of what my CLIO entry is about. This website with be used only because the one I mentioned previously goes hand in hand with this current one. This source is an article that is a commercial site. This is a website which will help my research by being able to express the importance of having huge ballparks where events can be held such as the Best Buddies Walk. This is an event that is held there every year to raise awareness for individuals with disabilities and allows people to come together for a great cause. This is very important as without this website it would be unknown where the walk is held for the event as well as what the mission is.

This site provides the basis on what The Ballpark of The Palm Beach is as well as the spring training schedule, special events, and the levels of the ballpark. This site is a commercial website that undergoes many details to understand the locations and how it came to be what it is today. The impression I had from this website is that it would tell me every detail I would need to know to understand the location. This website will be my main article for research as it has lots of information and even includes all their social media at the bottom with a phone number to answer any questions.

The website was published in September 16 of 2016. This talks about the type of grass used at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. This is a very silly, but super important piece of a baseball field. Paspalum TE is the grass used. It is likely the same grass used if you have ever been golfing on a golf course.

Ballpark of the Palm Beaches Prepped for Debut, this article was published the day before opening. One of the lines from the website says, “they have done a remarkable job finishing in roughly 15 months a $150 million project that normally would take two years.” This is an outstanding accomplishment as they had many different contractors there as well as every construction worker they could find. This is a great website because it shows how they were well prepared and knew what they were getting themselves into coming for the Spring.
