This park was the home to many pioneer in florida. It had a farmhouse, school house, and church fo pioneers in the 19th century. The Homeland School stated in 1878, the Old Homeland Methodist Church started in 1887, the Raulerson House was there in 1880 and the the English family's log cabin and barn was there in 1888.

Homeland Heritage park is the home to many pioneer based building. The school was built in 1878 called Bethel Academy and is currently the longest surviving pioneer school in polk county and was the original building to the park. This school housed many children all placed in one classroom and all learned together despite there ages. Throughout the years the school was added onto because of the growing population. There was also a annex that was a makeshift grocery store. Student now go to the school and learn what life was like before technology and ac in there school and learn about the hard work the kids went through.
