Swetland Homestead
Introduction
Text-to-speech Audio
The Swetland family built the first version of the house in 1803. Owing to the growth of the region and the family's prosperous farming operations, the home was improved and expanded throughout the early 19th century. Today, the well-preserved home offers tours and exhibits that tell the story of pioneer settlers, immigration, and the transformation from an agrarian economy to an industrialized area.
