Introduction
Text-to-speech Audio
Established in 2003 by the Putnam County Historical Society, the Putnam County Museum is dedicated to preserving the county's history. It houses 3,000 items and offers new exhibits throughout the year. By the early 1990s the society recognized that it needed a space to collect, preserve, and store its collections. The museum opened in 2003 in the former Jones School and three years later it opened in its current location on Jackson Street.
