Located in Havre de Grace, Maryland, the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum strives to preserve the maritime traditions of Chesapeake Bay. It features several permanent exhibits that explore the life and work of fisherman in the bay, ice harvesting, the U.S. Coast Guard, lifesaving equipment, shipbuilding, navigation, and overfishing and the depletion of waterfowl. Another exhibit depicts what John Smith and twelve of his companions saw and encountered as they ventured northwards from the settlement of Jamestown on July 24, 1608. The museum's collection is comprise of material cultural of the Lower Susquehanna River and Upper Chesapeake Bay area.
