The Alaska Museum of Science and Nature is an impressive museum that educates visitors about Alaska's rich natural and cultural history. It features many interactive and audio visual exhibits, as well as numerous fossil specimens on display (some of which can be handled by visitors). These specimens include dinosaur bones, rocks, minerals, and mounted animals. Highlights include the remains of the youngest mammoth found in the world, the remains of the largest ice age bear, the largest Alaskan mineral collection in the world, and a full-size pterosaur.
