The Mariposa Museum and History Center is located in the historical town of Mariposa California. Mariposa has the unique distinction of being a authentic gold rush era community located near the southern end of the Mother Load country of the 1849 gold rush. Mariposa is located on Highway 49 which spans most of the historic mother load country of California. We are also located on the “all weather” highway (Highway 140) that accesses Yosemite National Park . The museum and history center is located one block off the main street just north of Mariposa’s historic (1850′s era) downtown.
