Historical Marker: The Great Missouri River

Installed by the National Park Service, this historical marker is conveniently located at the Vermillion Information Center-Homestead Rest Area. It was installed by the National Park Service to provide visitors with some general information about the river and its impact on American history. The river is 2,341 miles long stretching from the Rocky Mountains to the Mississippi River. The rest area is situated within a segment of Missouri National Recreational River.
