R.D. Bailey Lake
The lake project was initiated in the summer of 1967 and costed $180 million; it was not completed until 1980. The lake project also included the development of 19,000 acres of land, which the Corps of Engineers has leased to the state Division of Natural Resources. The land is used as a wildlife management as well as recreational site. R.D. Bailey Lake visitors can picnic, boat, swim, fish, hike, and rock climb2.
