Listen

The La Crosse County Historical Society was established in 1925, merging with another organization of the same name. It preserves the history of La Crosse county from Native Americans to immigrant settlers. It owns and operates the Hixon House, a historic Italianate home originally built in 1859, and the Riverside Museum, which explores the history of La Crosse. Activities at the society include genealogical research and lecture series.
