Buell Block (David Allen Building)

This simple Modern design, with a brick façade, was built between 1917 and 1918. During its long reign, the David Allen building built a reputation for housing Allen Bros Shoes, also known later as David Allen Shoes Co., Allen’s Fine Footwear Inc. Since its humble beginning of a family-owned shoe store, a beauty salon, insurance agency, clothing stores, and restaurants resided in 410 Broadway. On the north side of Broadway, the shops served their purposes in strengthening the allure of Lorain for those traveling along West Erie Ave. Currently, Linda’s Litehouse Floral is situated in this building.
