Highlights of the museum include Joe DiMaggio's 1936 uniform, the 1985 Kansas City Royals World Series trophy, several baseballs signed by famous sports players and historical figures, the uniform worn by Hank Aaron when he broke Babe Ruth's single-season home run record, the last Yankee uniform pants Babe Ruth wore, a letter written by Jackie Robinson criticizing discrimination, and the final cleats Jim Thorpe used. Taken together, the 562-piece collection reflects not only growth and development of sports but the history of the country as well. Fogelman owned the Kansas City Royals from 1983 to 1991. The museum will also offer a variety of programs and events.
