This museum is located in a replica of a frontier stockade that was constructed in 1961 and designed to resemble a smaller version of the 1874 fort that was constructed here to protect settlers on the frontier. The museum is adjacent from the Carry Nation Home and tells the story of Medicine Lodge and central Kansas during the decades following the Civil War and statehood through exhibits of historical artifacts and antiques. The museum is home to an authentic log cabin that was home to homesteaders as well as the original jail.
