In 1905, when the Wenatchee Daily World started publishing its newspaper, it was located in the Columbia Valley Bank Building on Wenatchee Avenue. Five year later, in 1910, the newspaper moved into the World Building at 23-27 S. Mission. The editorial room was on the first floor and the presses were in the basement. The Wenatchee Daily World remained here until 1926 when it moved into a new building at 14 N. Mission. The post office shared space in the original World Building until 1916. The second floor of the structure was made into a first-class hotel with thirty six steam heated rooms. When the hotel opened, it was called the Del Mundo, but in 1922 it took on the English translation as the World Hotel. It closed its doors in 1970. When the Wenatchee Daily World moved in 1926, Dickson and Company, Inc., a printing firm, opened for business there. In 1931, Johnson, Doell & Company took over the Dickson firm. Later the partnership was dissolved, and in 1983, Johnson’s, Inc. sold office supplies and machines at this location. It is now used to house additional screens for the Liberty Theater who's box office and main screens are just up the street.
