Columbia Shoe Repair
Introduction
Text-to-speech Audio
Columbia Shoe Repair was owned and operated by Philip and Anna Paskan from the late 1920s through 1950s. Philip and Anna arrived in Seattle from Spokane shortly before the Depression with four young daughters. Philip was a shoemaker by trade from his native country of Yugoslavia and engaged his skills by repairing shoes in their living room shop. They added the storefront creating separate space for the shoe repair business. Over the years there have been few changes to the basic structure of the building. Today Bike Works, another repair shop, is in its place.
