Introduction
Text-to-speech Audio
D.C. Brown House. Home of D.C. Brown, Columbia City’s first town marshal. Brown got the job because of his service in the Civil War, but in Columbia City his duties were usually limited to fixing leaks in the town’s water system and rounding up stray cows. Originally located at 3815 S. Edmunds, this house was moved two lots east in 1936 when Brown built the Shirley Marvin apartment building, named for his two grandchildren.
