This is the house that Vilhelm Moberg used as his model for the home that Karl Oskar and Kristina Nilsson, the main characters in his book, "The Emigrants" would build when they came to Minnesota from Sweden in 1852. Moberg visited the Chisago Lakes area in 1947-8 when he was doing research for his 4 book series:

The house was moved from its original site, just 1/4 mile to the west. It was built by Carl and Lena Kajsa Linn, (author note: my great-great-grandparents) who emigrated from Linnehult, Sweden in 1852. They
