This property, located in Muncie Indiana, was where the infamous Ball mason jars manufacturing company relocated to from New York back in 1887. In addition to Ball mason jars, the ball family also created philanthropic organizations and even an academic institution (Ball State). It is no surprise, the Ball family made a lasting impact on Muncie as a whole.

The Ball family had originally formed their glass manufacturing company in New York, but relocated to Muncie, Indiana in 1887. The property is located along the White River, which is why the family chose to name the property Minnetrista. The name itself means, “a gathering place by the water”. (American Heritage 2020). The property was then converted in 1978 into what is known today as a cultural museum and overall place to gather and stretches over 40 acres. The museum holds more than 15,000 items in it's collection. This includes objects such as diaries, photographs, and many  other local memorabilia.
