According to ABC News the monument of David O. Dodd was first unveiled by the United Daughters of the Confederacy in 1910. ABC news continues to say how it was originally placed in front of Pine Bluff High School but moved to the front of the courthouse in the mid-1970’s. Due to people being offended and/or upset by the statue, Jefferson county judge, Robinson, says that the cost of moving and relocating the statue will cost anywhere from $10,000 to $12,000. Also another source, Kark News (local news channel) states that the monument has stood there for the past 40 years. Kark News says that the statue is supposed to be showing a confederate infantry men standing on top, has been officially removed.
