Memorial Park provides a place for all to reflect on the sacrifices made by our Soldiers throughout history and signifies the commitment of the 10th Mountain Division community to never forget our fallen Warriors. The Park contains three distinct monument areas that capture the history of loss as well as the enduring spirit of the 10th Mountain Division Soldier.

Dedicated 4 October, 1991, The Military Mountaineer Monument commemorates and acknowledges those that have come before by presenting a WW2 Mountaineer helping a 10th Mountain Soldier in his "Climb to Glory"
Nate Morrell was an WW2 veteran of the 10th Mountain Division. Originally enlisted in the 86th Mountain Infantry Regiment, he was quickly transferred to the Mountain Training Group to serve as a ski and rock climbing instructor. As a cadre member he was sent to teach at the Army Low Mountain Warfare Training Center in Elkins, WV before he returned to deploy with the 10th Medical Battalion, 10th Mountain Division. He served throughout the Italian campaign, where he was awarded a Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Combat Medical Badge.

3rd Brigade Combat Team "Spartan", 10th Mountain Division GWOT Memorial
2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment GWOT Memorial at Fort Drum's Memorial Park honors Soldiers of 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, who died while supporting operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was donated by Vietnam veterans from 2nd Battalion (Mechanized), 22nd Infantry Regiment (The Vietnam Triple Deuce)

The Heroes Walk granite pedestals that surround the Military Mountaineers statue stand as sentinels, watchful guards for Soldiers both past and present. The Hope for the Future Monument offers an inspiring message of hope and freedom. These monuments connect all members of the Fort Drum and 10th Mountain Division community to the honor and sacrifices of our fallen heroes and the Families they have left behind.
