This building was constructed in 1913 as the Michigan Central Rail's (MCR) Locomotive Shop. It is now the Elgin County Railway Museum. The museum has a number of rolling stock in their collection, including the CN Engine No. 5700 (originally 5703), and the electric L1 engine.

New York Central Railroad Locomotive No. 1290 was a class F-82, 10-wheeler (4-6-0) steam engine, built by the Canada Southern Railway in their St. Thomas, Ontario Locomotive Shops. Pictured in Courtwright, Ontario on October 6, 1956.
