This is a contributing entry for Development of Blackford County Hospital (and hospitals within same proximity) and only appears as part of that tour.Learn More.
Francis Hospital was formed due to religious orders in 1909. The foundation was finally laid in 1913. Years later, during the great depression, another wing was added. A chapel was included in the latest edition to the hospital. Throughout the years, several editions to the hospital were made. For example, in 1991, a new office building was added.

In 2000, Freansicna Health (in Mooresville) was added. This hospital has several locations including one in Carmel, Indianapolis, and Mooresville. St. Francis is associated with the Roman Church. This hospital correlates with my research because this hospital is unique to the Indiana area, started out small but grew into something much larger, and set out to help and save those in need in the surrounding Indiana area.
