Located on the second floor of the public library, the Columbia County Historical Society maintains a local history library, genealogical resources, and a small museum. The library includes the records of local civic groups, government records such as censuses and tax lists, local newspapers, photos and manuscripts, and records from local cemetery and other genealogical resources. The society offers local history tours and other educational events throughout the year.
