Constructed in 1894, this building served as the music hall and later was expanded to serve as a girl's dormitory for Mountain Home College. The college was organized by the White River Baptist Association and opened in 1893. The building is only one of many associated with the history of higher education in the town of Mountain Home, but this is the oldest and best-known landmark. The college closed in the Great Depression and the building was later used as a hospital, then a hotel and restaurant, and later a funeral parlor. Since the 1980s, the building has held professional offices and apartments.

Mountain Home's Old College Hall was built in 1894 and served as a music hall for the college in its early years. The building was expanded and remodeled in 1920 to include space for a girl's dormitory. In 1933, the college closed and the building has since been the site of three substantial alterations. Because of these alterations, it was determined that the structure was not eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places but the landmark is listed on the Arkansas Register of Historic Places for its association with the college and the history of Mountain Home. Today the two-story limestone building features a stately balcony and several renovations that were completed in 2018 to modernize the apartment and office spaces that have been located in the building over the past four decades.
