The Ceramic League of Miami was founded in 1950 by a group of women artists. It is a nonprofit organization that focuses on building the development of ceramic arts. They work on increasing and building the support for the arts and teach students of all ages the skills in sculpting and pottery. This administration does volunteer work often, coming to teach to schools, senior centers, and more. Annually they host exhibitions of their members' artwork to recognized artists, and they continue teaching classes of the arts and hosting projects of community service. In their daytime classes, they have a series of activities designated for each day of the week. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays have classes working on the pottery wheel, Wednesdays have hand building classes for beginners, and Fridays have intermediate hand building classes in the morning. In the Evening, all classes throughout the week are wheel based.
