The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse was established as in 1924 as "The Aladdin Theater," showing live performances and silent films. It changed owners and names a lot, but later became Brevards first "talkie" movie house. In 1984, the theater was purchased by the City of Cocoa and renamed to the Cocoa Village Playhouse, and in 1991, the Playhouse became a part of the National Register of Historic Places in Tallahassee.
