This dwelling was orginally a small frame tailor shop. In 1919 Mr. Mike Meyer built a brick addition to the original structure and operated a grocery store there until 1944 when Mr. Leo Bohlman bought the operation. It was operated as a store until 1949 when the Veterans of Foreign Wars purchased the building. They remodeled the building into a club room and the Slinger Foundry had offices ion the first floor. After the foundry there was a shoe store and Jims Bakery.
