Untitled, Charles Jupiter Hamilton, 2011. Though abstracted and chaotic, Hamilton’s untitled mural appears to be a representation of downtown Charleston as seen from the south bank of the Kanawha River. Anthropomorphized boats, buildings, clouds, and other features mingle freely with brightly colored silhouettes. The exuberance of the scene conveys Hamilton’s personal feelings about the city, both positive and negative.
