JOHN FEUTZ
Born May 14, 1894, in Hartford, Wisconsin. Attended
elementary school in Hartford, high school in Fond du
Lac and Hartford. Married to Carrie M. Thiel of Sch-
leisingerville, Wisconsin, on August 5, 1918. Celebrated
golden wedding in 1968. Two children Caroline (Mrs.
Robert E. Storck, Mayville, Wis.) and Robert J. of
Bellevue, Washington. Employed by U.S. Government at
Naval Gun Factory, Washington D.C. during World War I.
Owned and operated the Square Deal Garage in Slinger
for 21 years. Member of Village Board of Trustees 1923
through 1927. Appointed Postmaster of Slinger April 1,
1927 and served in that capacityuntilJuly 1, 1936. Chief
of Slinger Fire Department for 18 years. President of the
Badger Firemen's Association for 22 years. Life member-
ship in State Fire Chief's Association, having served as
vice president, president, and member of board of trustees
for three years. Clerk of the Board of Education, Slinger
Community Schools, November, 1958 to July, 1968.
Member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Slinger
Wis. Member of Hartford Masonic Lodge #120 (F. &
A. M.) since June 1916.
