This museum dates back to a traveling exhibit in 1996 and offers exhibits and programs intended to preserve the heritage of Islamic communities in the United States. The museum opened to the public on April 30, 2011.

Plant, Door, Sky, Window

 The museum includes exhibits that trace the history of Muslims in America. Highlights of the collection include a section on the Nation of Islam and items related to the immigration of Muslims to the U.S The organization maintains a small but growing collection of documents and photographs and also works to collect oral histories. The museum also offers public programs with talks by scholars and events designed to foster understanding of the experiences of people of different races, cultures, and religions.
