This historic building in the heart of McCormick is the former Hotel Keturah, which was built around 1910. It was erected to provide lodging for train passengers who arrived at the nearby McCormick Station, which is now home to the SC Wilds Heritage Center. The old hotel is two-and-a-half stories tall and features a porch with Doric columns. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places 1985.

The historic Hotel Keturah building was erected in 1910. For many years it was home to the MACK Artisans Guild & Gift Shop.

Window, Sky, Plant, Building

The hotel stands on the same property where the first Hotel Keturah was built in 1900. A fire destroyed it in 1909 and the current building was constructed in its place. A local named W.J. Conner erected both buildings and named them after his wife, Keturah. The 1910 building was considered modern by the standards of that period. The Conner family operated the hotel for a number of years. It closed in the 1960s and remained vacant until 1982 when another local resident, O.S. Sexton, bought and restored it. The building was home to the MACK (McCormick Arts Council) Artisans Gallery & Gift Shop for several years before moving to its current location in early 2021. It appears the former Hotel Keturah is undergoing renovation.
