Annual town meetings
made this the center for lively discussions between town
and village residents which eventually led to Village
incorporation in 1964. Movies were shown during
World War II and into the late 40s and early 50s. There
were teen “sock hops” in the 50s and 60s. Heat was
upgraded, but there was never plumbing. The restrooms
were in the 'outhouse'. This building was used until
October of 1990.
