Although Slinger received its Charter for a High School in 1914, Slinger High School first moved to this location in 1964 when the core of this building was constructed. Growth continued in the district and four additional construction projects in 1976, 1992, 1998, and 2018 bring the building to its present size serving over 1,100 high school students.

In 1964 the center core of this high school was opened for grades 9 – 12. In addition to a full sized gymnasium and separate cafeteria, the building had a group of classrooms surrounding an open courtyard.
Prior to this building, the high school was located at the back (southwest side) of the current Slinger Elementary School. The original high school building was taken down in 2002. A monument marks the location where this building stood.
The 1964 building was sized to accommodate around 500 students. As enrollment increased in the late 60’s, the 9th grade was moved back to the junior high building. For several years this building was a 10th – 12th high school.
A stand-alone auto shop building was added to the east corner of the building in 1976. After several defeated referendums, a building program was finally approved in 1992. This addition added the field house and locker rooms to the back (southwest side) of the building along with rooms for band and chorus and a space for District Office. After this was completed, the original 1964 gym could be split into two levels of classrooms, including several computer labs. The building could once again accommodate 9th – 12th grades.
In 1998, the front of the building was bumped out adding a new cafeteria, relocating the library by enclosing the courtyard, and providing additional classrooms on the second level. The lower level remained as unfinished space for future expansion.
Growth continued over the next twenty years. Musicals and concerts were held in a portion of the field house that had a stage. The unfinished basement space was converted into a Fitness Center, but located away from the gymnasium. More programs were added and many of the elective areas needed more space so in 2018 another wing was added to the southeast side of the building containing a Performing Arts Center and rooms for band and chorus. This freed up their rooms to become a Fitness Center. The unfinished space from the 1998 expansion allowed for expansion of the Technical Education Program and provided more space for other Fine Art programs.
Class sizes have grown over the years and in 2021 there were over 1,100 students at the high school. The District, including the high school, has maintained its proud tradition of offering a first-rate educational experience at a reasonable cost.
