For over 100 years, the word “Hershey” has been synonymous with chocolate. Milton Hershey founded his company in 1894 as the Hershey Chocolate Company. Through his accomplishments as an American entrepreneur, he used his personal wealth to enrich the lives of others. Hershey Industrial School’s orphan boys became heirs to his fortune. Milton Hershey was innovated, determined, and revolutionized the process of making milk chocolate.3
"Hershey's Chocolate World was built as a replacement of the Hershey chocolate plant tour, which had reached its capacity and was no longer able to handle the large numbers of visitors per year." Open year-round, Hershey's Chocolate World offers marketplace shops and restaurants. The Chocolate World attraction specializes in Hershey's chocolate products. Attractions include: Hershey's Great Chocolate Factory Mystery in 4D, the Hershey Trolley Works, Wrap Happiness, and a free Chocolate Tour ride. Hershey's Chocolate World is located off of Hersheypark Drive, in Hershey, PA. It is in an entertainment complex that also includes Hersheypark, Hersheypark Stadium, Hersheypark Arena, Hershey Museum, and Giant Center.2
Visitors can start the tour on the free Hershey's Great American Chocolate Tour ride. This ride is complete with a free sample of a Hershey's product. Then guests can go to the newest attraction, Hershey's Great Chocolate Factory Mystery, which is a first-of-its-kind 4D experience. Visitors can also enjoy an authentic factory experience while making a candy bar at Hershey's Create Your Own Candy Bar attraction.1
Visitors should be ready for a fun-filled day of Hershey's Happiness at Hershey's Chocolate World! Guests will explore the assortment of sweet chocolate attractions and treat their senses to the many wonders of chocolate. Also, visitors will explore the many attractions that are available at the Hershey's Chocolate World location. The rest of Hershey's Chocolate World contains various shops selling Hershey souvenirs and chocolate. There are also several counter service meal locations. The main candy store, one of the largest stores of its kind in the world, sells Hershey's products including new items not widely released and other premium chocolate brands.2
