The story of Balentine Hall is as follows: Many years ago, a strict house mother, whose name has been forgotten and is now just referred to as "Ma Balentine", walked the halls, making sure no boys violated the sanctity of the women-only living quarters. She swore she would never allow the building to be a co-ed hall. With Balentine Hall now co-ed, residents have sworn that they have heard her footsteps echoing in restricted parts of the building.
