The White Lady of Penobscot Hall is yet another ghost you may encounter in the dorms. The story goes that a workman died during the construction of the building because of another workman’s “carelessness.” When he died his wife, wrought with grief, swore she would haunt the place of his untimely death. She supposedly appears as a translucent figure who causes things to move, and is generally seen on the first floor where the husband was said to have passed on. Some say that she is not normally seen, but heard through disembodied footsteps and voices. But be warned, she can be rather temperamental, as she is known to move things around in students’ rooms.
