In the movie Run Lola Run, Lola lives in an apartment in 13-14 Albrechtstrasse. Her apartment was near a river decorated by green plants, and she had an ordinary and dimly lit room. The infrastructure nearby was also complete, and she can easily have access to a bank, grocery store, and church.

Before the 18th century, there were meadows and morass in this area. After the industrialization, the city expanded to have some emergence of new streets, including the existence of Albrechtstraße in 1827. The name of the Albrechtstraße derives from General Colonel Albrecht Prince of Prussia, and apartments in this street attract thousands of students, artists, and intellectuals. Lots of people are attracted due to the convenient infrastructure and safe and beautiful environment. There were once some well-known residents in this apartment, including Bulgarian resistance fighter Krystana Iwanowa Janeway and preacher Wilhelm Klemperer. On October 20, 2014, artist Gunter Demnig laid a memorial at 12 Albrechtstrasse for Doris Michaelis, a Jewish resident who was deported and killed during the Nazi era.
