Bank: Hotel De Rome
Introduction
Text-to-speech Audio
Lola's father's bank is a very important scene in the movie. In all three flashbacks, Lola went to the bank to seek help from her father. The people in this bank, Lola's father, Lola's father's lover, and the bank security guard are all very crucial characters who trigger the butterfly effect of the story. But in fact, this bank also does not exist in reality. It was disguised from the hotel grounds. But it was indeed a bank when it was built in the late 19th century.

Hotel De Rome was built in 1889. It served as the headquarters of the Dresden Bank at that time. Later, in 1945, when the area became a Soviet zone, it was renamed the East German National Bank. The bank was dissolved when the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, and when the original bank building was renovated and remodeled in 2003, every effort was made to preserve as much of its past as authentically as possible. For example, the hotel's spa is housed in a former bejeweled vault, the historic suites once served as offices for the bank's directors, and the bank's main hall is now a spectacular ballroom.
Located in the meticulously restored former Dresden Bank headquarters dating back to 1889, Hotel de Rome is a unique combination of protected architecture and contemporary design, blending exceptional comfort with personalized Rocco Forte service. Opened in October 2006, the hotel is one of the "Top Hotels of the World". As one of the few luxury hotels located in an original historic building, the Hotel Roma reflects the Berlin destination in the most authentic way.
