To your right was another teacher's house rented out for about $25 per month to a teacher at the Arthurdale school system. Unlike the other teacher's houses we've seen, this one had no original barn because the teachers were not expected to farm as homesteaders were.

Carleton Saunders was the first teacher to live in CR-5. He had worked under Principal Clapp in Kentucky and was one of several teachers that came with her. He taught high school mathematics which was often taught in tandem with other classes like Shop and Science.
