The archival space in the community center includes the records of the Whitman County Genealogical Society, making this an ideal place for those interested in both local and family history. The archive is staffed by area volunteers.
In addition to this archive, the historical society operates two area museums-a county history museum in Colfax and the Roy Chatters Print Museum. The society publishes a newsletter as well as a periodical called the Bunchgrass Historian. Finally the society maintains historic structures in the area such as the Holy Trinity Chapel, the Perkins House, and the Jones School House.
