Introduction
Text-to-speech Audio
Located at the location of a former open-pit mine, this park offers a mixture of outdoor activities with tours of the former mining area. After mining operations ceased in 1978, the open pit mine has become a lake. In operation from 1913 until 1978 the Hill Annex Mine produced 63 million tons of iron ore. Tours of the mining area are offered by guides with mining experience on Fridays and Saturdays in the summer.
