The Lansing Historical Museum contain several galleries dedicated to local history and is home to several educational programs throughout the year. The museum is located in a historic 1887 Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Train depot. In 1989, this historic depot was nearly demolished, but was preserved and converted into a museum thanks to the efforts of local citizens.

  • This small museum houses a large number of photographs, artifacts, yearbooks, and other items.
The Lansing Historical Museum is also home to hundreds of artifacts and documents relating to the Kansas State Penitentiary / Lansing Correctional Facility. There is a permanent prison display in the museum consisting of contraband, coal mine equipment, restraints, and photographs.
