This Craftsman house was built in 1908 by contractors (not architects), August L. Swanson and carpenter Olaf T. Hollen. Mary and Joseph Sharmen were early residents of the property. This house is a good example of an early 20th century bungalow—not particularly Craftsman, but not really belonging to any of the other dominate styles of the day.

It epitomizes the more petite infill structure that started to appear by 1910 and continued through the 1930s in the district.
