The oldest grave in Logan Memorial Park Cemetery dates back to 1783, making this small cemetery one of the oldest in the county. Gravestones include the names of many Scotch Irish settlers such as the Dingess family and the Buskirk family. Upon further inspection, one will also find the grave of Henry Clay Ragland, one of Logan's most prominent individuals. Ragland was a Civil War veteran and a local historian who published one of the first accounts of the formation of Logan County. Ragland was also the publisher of the Logan Banner; a local newspaper that was formed during the late 1800s and remains in print.
