The Alexander Young Cabin is the only historic cabin remaining in Washington County. Its namesake, Alexander Young, built it in 1840 and it is now located in Sunset Park. It is owned by the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, which opens the cabin to the public by appointment. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Young family lived in the cabin for 36 years. It was originally located on a 320-acre farm 4.5 miles to the northwest. The Youngs were well known in the community. They hosted travelers and offered the cabin to be used as a church, school (for at least one term), and post office. It was also the site of the first marriage in the township. The last two members of the family donated the cabin to the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1912 as a memorial to pioneer settlers. It is furnished with period items donated by local families.
