The Belden Village Mall is a fully enclosed shopping center that opened on October 1st 1970. The initial construction of the mall was funded by Sears, O'Neil's (latter merged into the May Company Ohio then rebranded into Kaufmann's and finally becoming Macy's), Halle's, and Higbee's (later renamed Dillard's).
The only major renovations include a facelift of the food court and glass atriums added at the major entrances to modernize the building in 1989, and another major renovation in 2017 when a truck bay was converted and added onto to create more storefronts on the outside of the mall. The first of these extra spaces was used by Melt Bar and Grill. Food court furniture was replaced in 2019.
